And these things write we unto you,
that your joy may be full.
Take a look at I John.
What can we find in there to make us joyful? Or what can we find to make
our joy full?
1:5 This then is the
message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light,
and in him is no darkness.
How much darkness is in
God? What does the verse say that
God is?
2:10 He
that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion
of stumbling in him.
We are in fellowship with
God when we walk in love.
2:25 And this is the
promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
What kind of life has God
promised us?
3:2 Beloved, now are
we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall
see him as he is.
Christ has not yet returned,
but we are sons of God right now! But when he comes, we will be
like him.
3:22-23 And whatsoever
we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those
things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment,
That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one
another, as he gave us commandment.
God has commanded us to
love one another. We can always choose to walk
in love.
4:4 Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in
you, than he that is in the world.
The world is full if ungodliness; but holy spirit in you is more
powerful than any ungodly power or influence. Claim God's promises in the
name of Jesus Christ. You have overcome the world
because you have Christ in you.
4:18-19 There is no
fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear has
torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love
him, because he first loved us.
God loved us first, and
He continues to love us. When we believe what God's love
has done for us, we can be fearless.
4:21 And this commandment
have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
We have been commanded to
love God and to love our brothers and sisters
in Christ. It is God's will that we love.
5:3 For this is the
love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not
grievous.
His commandments are not grievous. That means that they are not a burden. Not a burden at all!
5:14 And this is the
confidence that we have of him, that, if we ask any thing according to
his will, he heareth us.
God's willingness equals
His ability to answer our prayers. If we are walking in love; then
we are trusting in His Word and His Will. Then we have confidence that
He hears us.
5:13 These things have
I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye
may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name
of the Son of God.
